Reporting to this position:

The Program Manager is responsible for the supervision of up to 8 licensed residential units (housing up to 16 adults with intellectual / developmental disabilities), house managers, and direct support professionals who work with the individuals in the supported caseload.

Major Responsibilities/Activities

Program Managers will oversee the coordination and management of Direct Support Professionals and day services for individual with intellectual disabilities. The primary mission of the Program Manager is to oversee and ensure the quality and comprehensiveness of services for the individuals we serve. This requires that the Program Manager knows the individual and understands his/her needs, strengths, and preferences. The Program Manager understand the "big picture" of all Inspired Options needs to do to fulfill its obligations, works with Inspired Options staff and individuals to carry out the agency's responsibilities. The Program Manager collaborates with area agencies, state agencies, family members, guardians, medical and mental health providers, and others in the community to make sure individuals are safe, their particular needs are met, and their lives are as rich and fulfilling as possible.

Other Responsibilities

• Maintain strong, respectful relationships with the individuals in supported caseload.
• Ensure that the health and safety needs of individuals who receive services are met consistent with COMAR, Centers for Medicaid Services, Maryland Board of Nursing regulation, accreditation standards, and Inspired Options policies and procedures.
• Understand the various roles of Inspired Options staff and works collaboratively.
• Demonstrate excellent planning skills and have reliable follow through skills.
• Respond to incidents in a timely manner.
• Attend and monitor agency’s participation in annual Person Centered Plan meetings.
• Work closely with the Recruiter to schedule, interview, and hire new staff.
• Ensure that staff are scheduled for shifts, and that staff are using Inspired Options’ time management system.
• Ensure that appropriate documentation is completed as scheduled in the agency’s record keeping systems, including electronic record system
• Conduct unannounced visits to homes in supported caseload.
• Be on-call 24/7 for assigned homes.
• Other administrative tasks and duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements & Experience

• Associates Degree preferred, plus two years of experience in the field of developmental disabilities and one year of supervisory experience.

• Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record as determined by criteria established by the Agency’s insurance carrier and Agency policy.

Inspired Options Inc. seeks a caring, reliable, and devoted direct support professional to assist the people we support in our Community Development Services program.

Community Development Services (CDS) is a DDA service model that is geared towards supporting the participant growth and development of skills and social supports necessary to gain, retain, or advance competitive integrated employment opportunities. 

Community-based activities offered through CDS may include, but are not limited to the participant’s participation and engagement in:

·         Opportunities to learn socially acceptable behavior and self-advocacy skills.

·         Activities which facilitate and promote integration and inclusion in the participant’s chosen community, including identifying a path to employment for a working age participant.

·         Travel training.

·         Self-advocacy classes and activities.

·         Local community events.

·         Volunteering within a non-profit organization whose mission the participant’s supports and/or

·         Performing a paid or unpaid internship.

Essential Functions

• Support individuals participate and engage in activities in the community
• Work directly with 1 – 4 adults in the community, supporting and assisting them with various activities geared toward realizing the goals of the CDS program.

Required Education/Certifications/Experience 

High School Diploma or equivalent.

CPR/First Aid, and required DDA trainings

Driving (Agency and/or personal vehicle) is required for this position.

Must be at least 21 years of age, with a minimum of 2 years of driving experience, and a valid driver's license issued by the state of residence. There can be no state issued restrictions on the licenses that would impede driver's ability to operate the vehicle as required by the Agency, and there must not be more than three (3) points on their driving record.

Ability to drive multiple Agency vehicles following traffic rules and safety precautions. This includes, but is not limited to, safe driving, and the ability to secure people who use wheelchairs

Additional Required Skills

Microsoft Excel and Word skills, excellent communication skills, organizational skills and ability to multi-task necessary. Must be a self-starter.

Position Overview

Under the direction and supervision of the House Manager (or Residential Program Manager), the position assists with providing direct care and supports to the participants that agency supports in our residential group homes in a ratio of 1:1 up to 1:3 in the home, in the community, and employment environment.

Essential Functions

·       Work with residents, assisting them with the activities of daily living: teaching money management, housekeeping, cooking, personal care and hygiene, socialization with roommates and persons in the community, and appropriate use of leisure time.

·       Develop and maintain warm, clean, and safe home environment which is conducive to optimal development of the resident.

·       Implement the individual activity schedule of the resident. Document all activities on the weekly activity schedule.

·       Participate in the development of, and implementation of the participants' Person-Centered Plan (PCP). Document any changes to the resident's program in the approved PCP prior to implementation.

·       Work with the Residential House Manager to account for the individual funds of the resident. Teach money management techniques to residents who experience difficulties managing their personal funds.

·       Adheres to the mandatory use of CIMS system to access, send email and access and report health information, data and incidents for individuals supported in Inspired Options Inc. program.
